British hard enduro superstar Billy Bolt has kickstarted the 2025 season with an impressive win at the Valleys Xtreme in South Wales. The reigning FIM Hard Enduro World Champion demonstrated his trademark mix of technical prowess and relentless speed to secure victory in the first major event of the year.

Held across the rugged and unforgiving terrain of the Welsh Valleys, the Valleys Xtreme is notorious for pushing riders to their physical and mental limits. This year’s course featured steep climbs, rocky descents, and deep water crossings, conditions that played to Bolt’s strengths. Despite facing a stacked field of competitors, including previous event winners and world-class talent,Bolt maintained control throughout the race, making crucial moves in the most demanding sections to stay ahead.

Bolt’s victory wasn’t without its challenges. Early in the race, he faced intense pressure from fellow contenders Manuel Lettenbichler and Jonny Walker. The trio exchanged positions several times during the opening laps, but Bolt’s mastery of the technical sections ultimately gave him the edge. By the midway point, Bolt had established a commanding lead, which he maintained to the finish line.

Speaking in an interview with betting.bet after the race, Bolt expressed his satisfaction with the result. “It’s great to start the season on a high note. The Valleys Xtreme is always a tough event, but the team and I put in a lot of preparation during the off-season, and it paid off today,” he said. “The competition was fierce, and I had to stay focused the entire time. I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into the rest of the season.”

With his Valleys Xtreme triumph, Bolt has sent a clear message to his rivals: he remains the rider to beat in the 2025 Hard Enduro season. His next challenge will be the opening round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, where he will seek to defend his title against an elite field of riders from around the globe.

Fans and analysts alike are eagerly anticipating how the rest of the season will unfold. Bolt’s early victory has bolstered expectations that he could dominate the championship once again, but with a long and gruelling schedule ahead, anything can happen in the unpredictable world of hard enduro racing.

As the sport continues to grow in popularity, Bolt’s performance at Valleys Xtreme underscores why he is considered one of the greatest talents in modern enduro. With his combination of skill, determination, and experience, the 2025 season is shaping up to be another thrilling chapter in his already illustrious career.

Taddy Blazusiak’s stint in the SuperEnduro World Championship with Stark Future has come to an abrupt end. An incident during the German round led the experienced rider to part ways with the team.

During one of the races, the Polish rider was closely trailing Tim Apolle, who struggled to clear an obstacle. Blazusiak came too close to his competitor, causing his bike to lose control and crash into Apolle.

Both riders fell, and while no serious injuries were reported, it was a highly dangerous situation that could have resulted in far worse consequences.

This week, Blazusiak announced a unilateral termination of his agreement, deciding not to participate in the upcoming races. In the same statement, he apologized for the incident at the German GP, emphasizing: ‘It was not my intention and was caused by the unpredictable reaction of the motorcycle’.

Kalle Rovanperä is a standout in the World Rally Championship (WRC) with cars, but now he is venturing into EnduroGP. The two-time world rally champion has launched his own team in the motorcycle racing discipline.

The KR69 World Enduro Team – referencing his number and WRC jersey – will race with a Husqvarna FE 250. The rider will be Roni Kyttonen, whom Rovanperä supported last year.

In 2024, the Finn had to miss about half of the season due to a hand injury sustained at the EnduroGP of Wales in August.

In a video published on KR69 World Enduro Team’s social media, Rovanperä said: ‘It’s pretty exciting times. It’s a totally new kind of project for me, I never did anything like this, so that’s really interesting to be honest. We have been quite busy, we don’t have so much time to prepare everything. But luckly we still have a few months until the season starts. It’s quite a big challenge to make this kind of thing and go to the Enduro World Championship. But we have a good support from the guys who have done it before. Of course, we have the base of Kyttonen Motorsport helping us and doing all the operational stuff. And then, of course, Roni has been going around for many years already. It’s a very cool project, and I think our target it’s quite clear. We’ll try to bring the old school good results from Finland back in the top of the World Championship. So, that’s our goal, and let’s see what we can do’.

Kyttonen commented: ‘It’s been quite busy times, but now I’m just super happy to be back on the bike and start the year like this. A big thanks for Kalle and Husqvarna Nordic, and all the sponsors. Now, it’s time to start working and get ready for this year’.

Billy Bolt of Husqvarna Factory Racing consolidated his lead in the 2025 SuperEnduro World Championship by claiming a crushing victory in the second round in Riesa, Germany. The British rider demonstrated superiority by winning all races of the night aboard his Husqvarna FE 350, extending his championship lead to over 20 points.

The night started in the best possible way for Bolt, who secured the SuperPole victory with a time almost two seconds faster than the second-place finisher. This performance guaranteed him first pick on the grid for the initial race.

At the start of the first race, Bolt got the holeshot and quickly began to pull away from his competitors. Despite constant pressure from his main championship rival, Jonny Walker, Bolt maintained control of the pace and secured the first victory of the night.

In the second race, with the reversed grid, Bolt started from the second row. Nevertheless, he stayed calm and began climbing positions in a calculated manner. With several riders facing difficulties on a deteriorating track, Bolt demonstrated his class by smoothly navigating the obstacles, securing another victory.

The third and final race of the night saw Bolt temporarily boxed in at the start, but his experience shone through as he managed the race with precision. By the third lap, he was already in second place, and with Walker’s mistake in the rock section, Bolt took advantage to take the lead. From there, he extended his advantage until the checkered flag.

With the SuperPole victory and wins in all three races, Bolt delivered a perfect night in Riesa, positioning himself comfortably at the top of the championship standings after two rounds.

The next round of the 2025 SuperEnduro World Championship is scheduled for January 18th in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The situation at KTM AG continues to have repercussions on third-party entities. The promoter of the Hard Enduro World Championship, WESS Promotion GmbH, was primarily funded by the Austrians, who are now unable to maintain that funding… meaning the company will be liquidated.

This was revealed by its director, Winni Kerschhaggi, to SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘WESS Promotion GmbH is to be liquidated. This affects us not only as a company but also personally. But we, as a management team, want to continue with the Hard Enduro World Championship in a new company. WESS Promotion GmbH existed because it was primarily funded by KTM. Our services were paid for by WESS Promotion GmbH. KTM can no longer support the championship due to the known facts’.

Regarding the position of the FIM, the responsible party explained: ‘The contracts are between the FIM and WESS Promotion GmbH. The FIM is positive about the plans to continue the Championship in a new company because it has a strong interest in the Championship continuing to take place. The FIM agreed to accommodate us financially here, at least in the first year’.

The idea is to respect the 2025 calendar as much as possible, but the possibility of excluding the Canadian round due to the expenses involved is not ruled out. In any case, Winni Kerschhaggi emphasized: ‘We have spoken to all the organizers, including those not on the 2025 calendar. They are unanimously interested in the Championship continuing to exist. Most are also interested in it continuing with the FIM. Furthermore, they are also interested in it happening with the current management team’.
