Álex Márquez has had his best start to a MotoGP season since joining the championship, finishing second in all races so far – both Sprint and main races.

The Thailand and Argentina GPs were ideal for the BK8 Gresini rider, which naturally boosts his confidence: ‘We were able to be very fast in Thailand and also in Argentina, but it’s true that these are tracks quite have suited me already in the past. But I’m feeling I have the confidence to be competitive on all the tracks’.

That said, Álex Márquez remains cautious and is aware that he is not yet on the same level as Marc (Ducati): ‘We need to see how competitive we can be on other tracks. I still think we need to take a small step compared to Marc. In Thailand he was like in another world, but in Argentina we were closer – on a really favourite track for him, which is also one of my favourites’.

On the other hand, the #73 wants to stay calm, taking things one GP at a time: ‘We need to keep going, we need to go race by race, not thinking about the future. Later on, I will focus on Austin and, race by race, I will try to give my 100% from Friday to Sunday, scoring the maximum points for the championship, and going step by step. If we do that, if we don’t think too far away, we can do a good job’.
