‘We won’t be 100 per cent ready by Doha,’ admits Raúl Fernández after the Argentina GP

Trackhouse MotoGP Team rider Raúl Fernández gave a realistic analysis of his current competitive condition after finishing 15th in the Argentina GP, revealing that his team still needs time to reach peak performance.

In the post-GP analysis at Termas de Río Hondo, the #25 looked at himself instrospectively: ‘I think I’ll be 100 per cent ready in Qatar and Jerez. Texas is a good track where last year Maverick [Viñales] won with our bike, but I feel we’re not 100 per cent ready to fight for our best,’ admitted the Spanish rider, referring to the next rounds of the world calendar.

Fernández explained that he’s not necessarily talking about victory or a podium, but rather about extracting the maximum potential from his machine: ‘I need one more race of margin to try to work on ourselves, on our set-up, and try to get all the details right to be ready in Doha. Doha will be our target race to be 100 per cent read’.

The limited preparation during the pre-season was pointed out as one of the factors for the current difficulties: ‘When you have five days of pre-season and you only do two, plus injuries, it’s not easy to make a good set-up on the bike,’ concluded the Trackhouse rider, setting realistic expectations for the next stages.
