Álex Márquez was second in the Sprint of the Argentine GP and again behind his brother Marc who, he admits, gave up trying to chase him given the speed shown by the latter, focusing instead on holding on to second place on the podium.

In parc ferme Álex spoke about his race and explained that he simply didn’t have the ability to catch #93: ‘It was a very good race. Riding with Marc in front the whole race was like we were on the training ground with me just trying to be as close as possible.’

Happy with his position, he chose not to risk too much, settling for second place: ‘In the end I gave up a bit because I was very much on the limit and I saw that the gap to Pecco [Bagnaia] was 2s and something and I said: «Ok, we’ve come this far» and I couldn’t attack him because he was too fast’.

The focus now is on tomorrow’s race: ‘I’m super happy and tomorrow there’s a new race and we have to be smart’.
