Raúl Fernández revealed the intense work carried out with his technical team to solve the setup problems of his Aprilia after a challenging weekend at the Argentina GP, where he finished in 15th position. The Spaniard points to the Qatar GP, with the Americas GP in between, as the time of the season where he expects to be fully ready to show his best.

‘In the end, we spent a lot of time with the engineers, with my crew chief and with my data engineers trying to find a solution. Yesterday [Saturday] I left around 21:30/22h00 and that was when we tried to find the change in setup’, explained the Trackhouse MotoGP Team rider.

Fernández highlighted the psychological importance of feeling progress after a complicated weekend:

– For me, it’s important because after a very difficult weekend, you finish the race not in the place you want, but you feel that the bike is doing what you want. It’s important for the future. At some points, you have to find something, right? If you’re fighting every day, if you work, one day you have to find something. So, maybe for me, it was this Sunday.

The number #25 set clear goals for the next stages of the championship: ‘It’s true that I’m not 100% ready and we need to work a little more in Texas. Certainly, in Texas it will be better, but the thing is that in Doha we have to be ready, and I think this is the objective’.
