The second free practice session for the Moto2 Argentina GP could hardly have been more competitive. Jake Dixon led by just 73 thousandths of a second, despite being at the top for nearly the entire session.

The Elf Marc VDS rider took the lead from his first flying lap, setting the fastest time of FP2 on his second attempt with a 1m41.486s lap. His rivals improved towards the end, but no one managed to surpass him.

Barry Baltus (Fantic Racing Lino Sonego/Kalex) came closest, just 0.073s behind, followed by his teammate Arón Canet. Manuel González (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP/Kalex) finished fourth after dominating the previous day.

Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) completed the top five. Some of the expected frontrunners, such as Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team/Kalex) and Tony Arbolino (bLU cRU Pramac Yamaha), finished further down the standings in an FP2 session that primarily serves as preparation before qualifying and the race.
