Ángel Piqueras claimed victory in Sunday’s Moto3 Argentina GP race. The race was thrilling until the very end, with absolute uncertainty in the battle for the win.

Ryusei Yamanaka (Frinsa-MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) took the holeshot, but by the middle of the first lap, he had lost four positions. David Almansa (Leopard Racing/Honda) moved into the lead, chased by the two Red Bull KTM Ajo riders, Álvaro Carpe and José Antonio Rueda… who overtook their rival on the second lap, taking advantage of Almansa running wide at Turn 1.

But the #22 did not give up, and on the following lap, he fought back against Carpe and Rueda to retake the lead. Yamanaka remained in fourth, and the top 11 riders were separated by less than a second, causing constant changes in the standings. At the start of lap four, Riccardo Rossi (Rivacold Snipers Team/Honda) moved into the podium positions, swapping places with Rueda.

On lap six, Almansa was at the front, managing to open a slight gap over Rueda, who in turn had about three-tenths of a second ahead of Matteo Bertelle (LevelUp-MTA/KTM). However, midway through the race, Almansa lost two positions, and his teammate, Adrián Fernández, briefly took the lead.

The constant position changes continued. With eight laps to go before the checkered flag, none of the top five riders had ever won in the World Championship: Almansa, Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia), Bertelle, Carpe, and Fernández.

In the final laps, Bertelle pulled ahead at the front, but Piqueras (Frinsa-MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) never gave up until the very end. The Italian made a costly mistake on the last lap.

Piqueras and Rueda seized the opportunity, moving into the top two positions. Piqueras secured the victory, while Fernández overtook Rueda in the closing moments to finish second, just 0.036s behind the winner. Bertelle finished fourth, and Furusato took fifth after a last-lap penalty.
