David Muñoz led the first free practice session of the Argentina GP in Moto3 this morning. The paddock returns to Termas de Río Hondo after two years, with several riders experiencing the track for the first time.

On a cool and very humid morning with tricky conditions, David Almansa (Leopard Racing/Honda) initially led the session, with Muñoz (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP/KTM) in second. Within the first ten minutes, lap times dropped below the two-minute mark, and José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) moved into second—before Muñoz reclaimed the position.

With around 18 minutes remaining, Rueda took the top spot, only to be overtaken by Ángel Piqueras (Frinsa-MT Helmets-MSi/KTM). However, the #36 didn’t stay in front for long, as Almansa went faster with ten minutes to go.

The final six minutes saw a sharp drop in lap times and constant changes in the order. Almansa also improved and held the lead until the final minute when the fastest laps of the session came in.

Ultimately, Muñoz set the pace, completing his final lap in 1m57.363s. Rueda improved to take second, 0.261s behind, while Almansa finished third, 0.434s back. Scott Ogden (CIP Green Power/KTM) set his best time late in the session to secure fourth, and Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) rounded out the top five.
