This weekend finally marks the start of the MotoGP season. After more than three months of winter break, riders and bikes return to the track competitively, with the Thai GP in Buriram.

It’s the first time the country is hosting the opening round, and it comes in a season filled with many changes in MotoGP: Marc Márquez becomes a Ducati rider, there are three rookies, the world champion also switches teams to Aprilia – and will be absent this weekend due to injury.

Therefore, Buriram will provide the first reference of the competitive level of the grid in its new form. Yamaha has also invested heavily, with Prima Pramac being their new satellite team with new riders Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira. Tech3 returns to being KTM Tech3, welcoming Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales. Marco Bezzecchi has also joined Aprilia, with Franco Morbidelli succeeding him at VR46.

As for Moto2, it starts without one of the top title contenders – Sergio García (QJMotor Frinsa MSi/Boscoscuro) is injured and will be replaced by Óscar Gutiérrez. Alonso López (SpeedUp), Arón Canet (Fantic Racing Lino Sonego/Kalex), Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team/Kalex), Tony Arbolino (bLU cRU Pramac Yamaha/Boscoscuro), and rookie David Alonso (CFMOTO Aspar/Kalex) are other riders creating expectations.

In Moto2, the new season has several rookies, but also experienced riders in the category eager to fight for the title – such as Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda), Ángel Piqueras (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM), or José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo). Among the newcomers, there are riders like the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and FIM Junior GP champion, Álvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo).

Here are the schedules for all sessions and classes at the Thai GP (CET time).
