Aspar Team is gearing up for another season in the MotoE World Championship, featuring a livery that pays tribute to its past in MotoGP – specifically the CRT era.

The Spanish team will have Power Electronics as its main sponsor, just as it once did in the premier class. The livery draws inspiration from that time, with a dominant dark blue combined with white.

The riders will be two-time champion Jordi Torres and Kevin Zannoni, just like last year – when the Italian was actually the team’s best-placed rider, finishing fourth in the championship with two victories.

It’s worth noting that the CRT era brings fond memories for Aspar – that, with Aleix Espargaró, dominated the category in 2012 and 2013, even securing a one-two finish in the first year with Randy de Puniet taking second place among the CRT bikes.

Klint Forward Racing officially presented its motorcycle teams for 2025, a year in which it will have a presence in three world championships: Moto2, MotoE, and Women’s (WorldWCR).

In Moto2, dominated by Boscoscuro and Kalex, Forward holds its ground as the constructor of its own bike. It will field riders Álex Escrig, who is moving on to another season, and Jorge Navarro, who returns to the category full-time after having served as a substitute on several occasions in 2024.

Andrea Mantovani and María Herrera continue in MotoE with the Swiss squad, with Mantovani having been a solid candidate for a top-ten finish last year. Herrera will also be one of Forward’s riders in the WorldWCR, where she aims to challenge for the title after finishing as runner-up, and she will have Roberta Ponzani as her teammate.

Thus, it is a year of intense activity for Forward, which has legitimate aspirations to fight for good results, particularly in MotoE and in the WorldWCR – with the latter, in particular, being a scenario in which it is truly positioned to mount a title challenge.

The rider considers it a year of learning and growth, thanking the team for their trust in renewing his contract for another season:

We fulfilled a dream together and became MotoE World Champions in the riders’ championship, but also in the teams’ championship. I learned a lot last season and developed mentally. I am very grateful that they continue to trust me and I am happy that I can continue working with the people in this great team. It feels like home to me.

Lorenzo Baldassarri is returning to the MotoGP paddock. The Italian rider will compete in the MotoE World Championship next year with Dynavolt Intact GP, alongside 2024 champion Héctor Garzó.

This year, Baldassarri returned to the World Supersport Championship after a disappointing 2023 season in Superbike. He started the year with a Ducati at Orelac Racing VerdNatura, before moving to WRP-RT Motorsport by SKM with a Triumph from Misano onwards. However, he only managed two top-ten finishes throughout the season, a far cry from his runner-up position in the 2022 championship.

During his World Superbike Championship stint, Baldassarri’s best results were two 12th places, earning just 20 points. Before his time in WSBK, Baldassarri competed in the MotoGP paddock from 2013 to 2021, starting in Moto3 before spending eight seasons in Moto2, where he achieved five wins.

Now, Baldassarri will have the opportunity to make his debut in MotoE, racing electric bikes for the first time. He will join Dynavolt Intact GP, the team that won both the rider and team titles this year.

Gresini Racing has decided to maintain continuity in the MotoE World Championship, with Alessio Finello and Matteo Ferrari set to remain as the team’s riders. The squad will also continue to enjoy the support of Felo as the main sponsor.

Ferrari, aged 27, is a natural choice to stay. Since MotoE’s inception in 2019, he has been with Gresini and was crowned champion in its inaugural season. This year, he missed out on a championship podium for the first time, finishing eighth overall.

As for Finello, he enters his fourth season with Gresini. The 26-year-old Italian had his best campaign in 2024, scoring 70 points and earning points in every race.

Luca Gresini, the team manager, commented: ‘We just had a challenging season with Matteo, but we are confident that we can aim high: we want to get back fighting for the top positions. As for Alessio, in 2024 his growth has been unquestionable, and we are convinced that this season [2025] he can take a further step. We are happy to continue the collaboration with Feo for the fourth consecutive year: we will give it all to bring the colours of Team Felo Gresini MotoE back to the top’.

SIC58 Squadra Corse will remain in the MotoE World Championship but will feature at least one new rider – Tommaso Occhi, who was recently announced. The identity of his teammate has yet to be revealed.

The 21-year-old Italian will make his debut in the championship following his experience in the Italian Speed Championship (CIV Supersport 300 and R7 Cup).

This past season, the team led by Paolo Simoncelli fielded Kevin Manfredi and Massimo Roccoli, achieving a best result of fourth place. The team finished eighth, second-to-last, in the teams’ championship.

Occhi said in a press release: ‘I’m very happy with the opportunity Paolo has given me; joining the World Championship with this team is an honor. It will be challenging, as I will be competing against riders with much more experience than me, but I’m ready to show all my potential. I’m convinced it will be a great year to grow and learn’.

The Snipers Team will enter the MotoE World Championship next year, marking an expansion within the MotoGP paddock. The team, which has been a regular presence in Moto3 for several years, is branching out into the electric motorcycle category.

The two riders representing the team will be Tibo Varga and Nicholas Spinelli. Varga, a Hungarian, will be making his debut, having competed this year in the Spanish Superbike Championship, where he finished third in the Stock 600 class.

Spinelli, on the other hand, is heading into his third season in Moto3 but will now switch to MotoE with Snipers. The Italian rider achieved his first three career victories this year and finished the championship in seventh place.

If no teams withdraw from MotoE for the 2024 season, the electric motorcycle category will feature 20 riders on the grid, matching the number seen in 2020.

MotoGP recently presented the image of the new logos for the different categories, and Carmelo Ezpeleta spoke with great happiness about this renewal of the logo image.

Dorna’s CEO explained to DAZN that the process that led to this new creation was ‘long’, and was quite happy with the final product: ‘It was a long process. Everyone involved did a tremendous job, and I want to thank them for their great effort. It’s fantastic to finally be able to reveal this new work of art, and it’s so much more than just a logo. I think what we’ve done, the words we’ve chosen, the shapes, the colors… we’re immensely proud of what MotoGP represents, and being able to work here… we can’t wait to start 2025 as soon as possible.’

And he later explained how the new logo represents the sport: ‘We have the «M», which represents the leaning, the two riders very close to each other, overtaking, the movements in the last corner. The «OTO» represents the bike and the rider, the human element and the machine that are part of our sport. And so the «GP» represents the circuits, and all of these are the foundations of our sport. We needed it to represent the sport we love and hope all the fans at home love it as much as we do.’

And acceptance and happiness seems to be general, even among the main representatives of the action: ‘The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, especially from the pilots. I spoke to Pecco [Bagnana], Marc [Márquez] and Jorge [Martín] right after finishing the event, and everyone, without exception, is as happy as we are. With these things, you never know what the reaction will be, but for now, it’s been overwhelmingly positive. I think the fact that the riders like it is amazing for us.’

The LCR E-Team will continue with the same pair of riders for the 2025 MotoE World Championship season. Eric Granado and Mattia Casadei have renewed their contracts with the team.

For Granado, it will be his fourth season with the Monegasque team. The Brazilian has been competing in the category since its creation in 2019, achieving 11 victories so far. He was vice-champion in 2022.

Casadei has also been in MotoE since its inception, joining the LCR E-Team this year after winning the title in 2023. His record includes ten wins, and he finished the season that ended in September as vice-champion.

With this pair of riders, LCR guarantees extensive experience in MotoE, as well as the potential to fight for the championship – a title the team has yet to secure, despite having been part of the category since its first year.

Regarding Granado, team owner Lucio Cecchinello stated: ‘We are delighted to count on Eric Granado for another season. He showed his speed and skills during his first year with us, as he finished as the vice-world champion, and he’s always been in the fight; he’s a talented rider. Over the years, we’ve created a solid relationship, and we are confident that 2025 can be a promising season for the LCR E-Team and Granado. The goal is to push and fight for the Championship, and we believe we have all the ingredients to, at least, try to do it’.

On Casadei’s renewal, Cecchinello commented: ‘We are pleased to count on Mattia Casadei for another season. He showed his talent and skills during his first year with us, as he finished as the vice-world champion in 2024; his speed is undeniable. Besides, he’s adapted very well to the team, and we are confident that 2025 can be a strong season for the LCR E-Team and Casadei. The goal is to push and fight for the Championship, and we’ll try hard to get it’.
