Liam Everts emerged as the winner of the MXGP of Castilla La Mancha in the MX2 Motocross World Championship. It was a muddy Sunday at the Cózar track, with two races that offered little drama in the battle for victory.
In the first race, Ferruccio Zanchi (Honda HRC) dominated clearly, leading from start to finish. He ended up 11.221 seconds ahead of Everts (Nestaan Husqvarna), while Kay de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna) finished third, more than a minute (!) behind the winner.
The second race also had a clear dominator, this time Everts. The Belgian gave no chance to his rivals, with virtually no contest for victory: De Wolf finished second, 1m21.434s behind. The Dutchman had to work hard to hold onto second place, finishing less than two seconds ahead of Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM).
The overall victory went to Everts, with 47 points against De Wolf’s 42. Zanchi completed the podium with 36 points, just two more than Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull KTM). Adamo also secured a spot in the top five.
