Thibault Benistant left no chance for his rivals in the MX2 World Motocross Championship qualifying race for the Castilla La Mancha round, securing victory and leading from start to finish.
The Monster Energy Yamaha rider took the lead right from the beginning in Cózar and held onto it throughout the 11-lap race.
Sacha Coenen (Red Bull KTM) overtook Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM) on the fourth lap to become Benistant’s main challenger from that point on. However, he finished 5.954s behind the Frenchman.
Liam Everts (Nestaan Husqvarna) climbed to third place after a late battle with Adamo, who settled for fourth. Last year’s champion, Kay de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna), rounded out the top five.
